Day 1
Hii everyone!
Yesterday I started working on a new project: A 3D platformer with simple to understand, hard to master combat.
My main referents are A Hat in Time and Super Mario Odyssey for the platforming and Mega Man Zero and the Souls series for the combat.
My goal with this project is to continue growing my portfolio up, so I didn't spend time with market analysis. Instead, I focused on setting up the basic mechanics I wanted to implement and what kind of art style the game will be using.
For the first, I wrote a little list on a .txt
- Move (Running)
- Jump
- Triple Jump
- Wall Jump (Loses height x3)
- Dash
- Aerial Dash (Reset on wall touch)
- Up Dash (Just once)
- Attack --> Attack2 --> Finisher
- Charged Attack
- Dash Attack
- Aerial Dash Attack
- Aerial Attack (Floats) (Hold to not float)
I also made some drafts for the main character. I wanted it to be some little cute animal like in Tunic, and I was thinking on some red panda or an ostrich at first, but then I had an idea: why not multiple animals in one?? So I chose a centaur. But not any centaur. A centaur crossed with a rabbit (I can't lie, I was heavily influenced by my main in League of Legends, Lillia). Here are the drawings:
